Oak Alley Plantation, A Beautiful Place to Visit…Up The Mississippi River to Vacherie from New Orleans

Oak Ally Plantation 1

The Oak Alley Plantation sits on the Mississippi River about an hours drive to Vacherie, Louisiana from New Orleans. The Greek Revival Plantation was constructed in 1837-1839.  What makes it famous is the 300 year old oak trees that lead from the front door to the Mississippi River about a quarter of a mile away.

You will always remember the photos that you take at the Oak Alley Plantation Rain or Shine. You may even remember seeing the Plantation is several movies.

Perhaps the most photographed plantation ever, Oak Alley has been the setting for such motion pictures as Interview with a VampirePrimary Colors, and the wedding of Bo and Hope from the daytime soap opera, Days of our Lives.
