How do New Orleans Street Cars and Cemeteries Mix. End of the Line!!

New Orleans Real Estate-Streetcar line

The cemeteries in New Orleans were once on the outskirts of town.  That was the case in 1840’s and beyond when you were buried at the St. Patrick #2 Cemetery at the end of Canal Street.  This just happens to the the end of the line for the Canal Street Line.  Being buried above ground has nothing to do with the water table or flooding.  That was the way of the old country.  The customs were brought here from Europe.
