Federal Fibre Mills Condos in New Orleans Warehouse District…

1107 S. Peters 413, Federal Fibre Mills Condos, Exposed Beam s and Brick     The Warehouse Distirct has become a favorite of second homers.  The Federal Fibre Mills is one of my favorite buildings.  This is the inside of a condo that I just listed.  Its known for its exposed beams, exposed brick, large windows, wood ceilings, high ceiling and attention to historic details. This one is being sold furnished for $320,413. Over time many of the owners have upgraded their units to look much like this one.

1107 S. Peters Courtyard and Pool Area, Federal Fibre Mills Condos

The Federal Fibre Mills located in the New Orleans Warehouse District is one of my favorite condo associations and historic renovations in the area.  The exposed beams, exposed brick, high ceilings, large windows couple with an outstanding courtyard and lobby make this hard to beat.

It was built as a rope factory in 1896 as it was close to the river and the Cotton Mills that surrounded it.  It was later to become an ingradual part of the 1984 World’s Fair before being developed into condos.

The Federal Fibre Mills Condos Lobby has to rank at the top of all lobbies in the New Orleans Warehouse District. Origionaly built as a rope factory in 1900 it later served as part of the Worlds Fair in 1984.  This building housed the German Beer Garden during that time period.  The monorail also came through the building an was most likely a popular stop and stop in those days.

Federal Fibre Mills in the New Orleans Warehouse District, Warehouse to Condo in a Historic Style

Friday, March 30th, 2012

The Federal Fibre Mills in the New Orleans Warehouse District was one of the first Warehouse Conversions in the Warehouse District.  It was once a rope factory built in about 1900 near the commerce on the Mississippi River in an industrial section of town.  It was also converted into apartments for the 1984 Worlds Fair.  It served as a German Beer Garden and the Monorail actually ran through the building.

The developer maintained all the exposed brick and beams into  the many floor plans of the current condos.  Lots of different floor plans in the condos today.  Located a block from the New Orleans Convention Center.

Federal Fibre Mills Condo Lobby, New Orleans Warehouse District

The Federal Fibre Mills in the New Orleans Warehouse District was once a rope factory after being built in the 1890’s.  I was a short trip to the Mississippi River and one of America’s largest ports.  It was renovated for the New Orleans World’s Fair in 1984 before being converted into Condos.  The lobby features a five story atrium with exposed beams and bricks.  Today it is the finest lobby in the New Orleans  condo market.   Many of the units have the same features left in tact for the present owners to enjoy.  See Fibre Mills Loft and Federal Fibre Mills Courtyard to get a better idea as to what this condo has to offer.

Federal Fibre Mills Courtyard, New Orelans Warehouse District

The Courtyards of the New Orleans Warehouse District are what you do not see if you are driving by.  These courtyards are in the middle of the city and yet could be miles away.   The courtyards are common areas for all the residents to enjoy.  The courtyard pictured above is the common courtyard of the Federal Fibre Mills located a block from the New Orleans Convention Center.    Check out the previous Federal Fibre Mills Post .

New Orleans Warehouse District Views from Federal Fibre Mills

Rooftop views in the New Orleans Warehouse District from the Federal Fibre Mills Condos.  Condos make up almost 100% of residential real estate in this area of New Orleans.  Most of the condos are conversions from warehouses and old office buildings.  It is also becoming an area where people are buying second homes because there is a lot to do in the area.  Enjoy the view!

Federal Fibre Mills Condos at 1107 South Peters, New Orleans Warehouse District

The Federal Fibre Mills was once a rope factory in the late 1800’s.  Later it was part of the 1984 World’s Fair.  It was where the beer garden was.  It is now one of the more popular downtown condo complexes that features high ceilings, large windows, exposed beams, exposed brick walls and one of the best common areas of all New Orleans.
