     One of the more beautiful corners on Royal Street in the New Orleans French Quarter.  Always some great hanging ferns and the hanging angels.  So suited to the culture of New Orleans.  Always kept up to a tee. Hope you enjoy these as much as I have.

     French Quarter Corners make some grat photos.  The wrap around gallery is common in this area of town.  Notice  the curve in the galleries.  The placement of the doors are also unique on these old buildings.  They all had to be some sort of retail space in the day.  These are just a sample of the color and the variety in the area…

       You never get tired of photographing  balconies in the New Orleans French Quarter.  You never know what you will get with the changing flowers and plants in the various seasons… Seasons are warm, warmer and then hot.  These creations are really a work of art and just do hot happen without a lot of care and  planning.  Plenty of variety if you just look up….

      October is a great weather month in New Orleans.  The plants love it as you can see.  The decorators love it as you can see.   The flags love it as you can see.  So does my camera even though it has hundreds of balconies they still remain an inviting shot.  Its like a person front yard so its an extension of the home…..Great plaace to just sit and watch on an October or November day.

French Quarter hanging balcony plants,

      Hanging plants in the French Quarter do begin to get long as the Summer runs into August.  It is like there is a contest to see who can grow the longest hanging plants.  They do not grow like this without food and water so someone is taking care of them.  The Christmas lights are still up but then those can be converted into lights for Halloween, Mardi Gras, and other local festivals.  This is not uncommon.

French Quarter Balconies are in demand! Balconies have not gone out of style in 200 years!

French Quarter Balconies in New Orleans

       Having a balcony in the French Quarter is a demand feature in the homes and condos.  Its your eyes and ears onto the daily activities.   Its basically some people’s front yard and away to show off their seasonal decorations or green thumb.  Its a art form that only exists in New Orleans !
