City Park Oaks and statue

Louisiana is blessed to have so many large oaks and places like City Park in New Orleans to display and protect them.  These trees are older than all of us.  If taken care of our great grandchildren can enjoy them long after we are gone.  These are just a few right off City Park Blvd. as you enter City Park.  The sunsets are some of the best times to catch a photo of these stately trees.

Another way to see them is to take one of the three model trains through the Park.

New Orleans Cheapee’s, Things to do in New Orleans with little or no Money

New Orleans Sculpture Garden, City Park

NOLA Cheapee is a word I made up because it makes a great category in a blog format.  It will  to point some simple things that you can do for little or no money in the New Orleans area.  The New Orleans Sculpture Garden happens to be free.  Its basically a well manicured garden with a collection of statues given to the City of New Orleans by the Bestoff family.  They once owned the K&B, the  number one drug store chain in New Orleans before the business was dominated by the national companies.  This high lights the value of local business’s that tend to put things back into the local community.
