Warehouse District, Sun Ray Grill in the Cotton Mill Condos…

Friday, March 11th, 2011

The Sun Ray Grill in the New Orleans Warehouse District is unique and has good food as well.  The Grill is actually in the corner of the Cotton Mill Condos.  You get the warehouse feel with the large windows, concrete floors and exposed brick.  The building dates back to 1900 and covers the entire block.

My favorite on the menu is the spicy ribs and cheese cake homemade style.   New Orleans has a lot of good places to eat and this is one of them.  Its worth checking out.

New Orleans Marbles, Maybe not but they do get noticed on Diamond Street!

On the site of the long gone St. Mary’s market on Diamond Street sits the giant marbles of New Orleans.   The park fills the neutral ground of Diamond Street for four blocks, from the Convention Center to Tchoupitoulas Street.  The five Balls is a sculpture by Terry Weldon called ” Riverstones ” .  Its a green space in downtown New Orleans better known as the Warehouse District.

Warehouse District Buildings, What is Next!

The New Orleans Warehouse District is always changing.  The old buildings are constantly being converted to real estate of better use.  This one looks like its getting ready for a new life as something else.  Besides condos it could easily be commercial space for offices, retail, and whatever!  I wonder what this building will become!!

Warehouse Nite scene

The New Orleans Warehouse District is often a center of activity.  This night it was very quiet.  It was either late or everyone was at home.  The Warehouse District is full of hotels, restaurants, bars, condos, apartments, museums, conventions, a casino, art galleries, offices, Super Dome, New Orleans Arena and various entertainment venues.  There are a lot of things to do.  It is a vibrant and growing neighborhood in the center of New Orleans.
